Dinner at The White House , A Parable

Got this in an email and thought I would share it.

Dinner at The White House , A Parable ( don't miss the last sentence....)

Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President. I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics. There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind. I live in a free country. There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws. My wealth was earned honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.

I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room. We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china. Uniformed staff served our dinner.

The meal was served, and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate, and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen.

"Sorry about that," said the President. "Andrew is very hungry."

"I don't appreciate..." I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty. It was just a dinner roll. "Of course," I concluded, and reached for my glass. Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.

"And his brother, Eric, is very thirsty." said the President.

I didn't say anything. The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I will play along. I don't want to seem unkind.

My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite.

"Eric's children are also quite hungry."

With a lurch, I crashed to the floor. My chair had been pulled out from under me. I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.

"And their grandmother can't stand for long."

I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool. Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game. I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken. I turned back to the President.

"Their grandfather doesn't like the cold."

I wanted to shout, "that was my coat!" But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport. I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled. Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone. I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table. I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home. Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in. The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.

"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions. They haven't planned for retirement, and they need a house. They recently defaulted on their subprime mortgage. I told them they could have your home. They need it more than you do."

My hands were shaking. I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor. The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak, and drank his wine. I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops.

"By the way," He added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories. I'm firing you as head of your business. I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind. There's a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars."

I looked up. The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his crème Brule. He drained the last drops of his wine.

As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me. I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss. I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived. The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle. Why was I punished? How had I allowed it to be taken? What game had I played and lost? I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us.

What had I done wrong?

As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands and said …………

“You should have stopped me at the dinner roll."

Anyone paying attention to what is happening in Congress?

While President Obama is overseas, tearing down America, the House and Senate passed differing versions of a $3.4 TRILLION Budget.

Along Party Lines! Nancy Pelosi was Ecstatic and Rahm Emanuel was pleased that the Democrats are taking advantage of the recession and passing government programs that could not be approved in better times!

ARGHHHHHHHH!

We The People must let Congress Hear our voices saying, Stop this out of Control Spending!

Anti-Americanism from the President of the United States

I am OUTRAGED!

President Obama earlier today, on European soil tells the World that America has shown arrogance towards it's allies.
“Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”
So what he is saying is that over the last 8 years the United States and the previous Administration completely dimisissed and disrespected the sovereignty of other European nations. Although France and Great Britain(England has President Obama called it) stood by us during the war on Terror. They did not stand as strong but that might be because we were attacked and their people would not have supported a larger presence as they lean towards protectionism. President Bush improved relationships strong relationships with Great Britain and Germany, and France has been coming around. But now President Obama stands withg Sarkozy and agrees that Gitmo was America running the equivalent of a terrorist organization. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE for an American President.

Next he tells Europe they should be more involved as they are more likely to be hit due to their proximity to nations that terrorists train and operate from.
"It is probably more likely that al Qaeda would be able to launch a serious terrorist attack on Europe than on the United States because of proximity," Mr Obama said.
This shows a STUNNING example that President Obama does not understand why the Terrorists hate America and why they Target the USA. The USA stands for Freedom, and we will defend the weak, and seek to defeat EVIL in our time. President Obama and his Administration do not have resolve to stand up to Terrorism. They have Abandoned the phrase "War on Terror", determined they will close Gitmo which will mean Terrorists captured in the war on terror will be brought into the U.S. and will be put in our Prisons(fertile ground to stir and raise more dissent) , and now Obama wants to put our Sovereignty in the hands of NATO.
"Nato is the most successful alliance in modern history. And the basic premise of Nato was that Europe's security was the United States' security and vice versa."

Today an American President to stood on Foreign Soil and torr down America while his policies weaken our nation. Meanwhile the media stands by and slobbers over The First Lady's outfits and how good the Obama's look. When are we going to realize what is happening. Hae we forgotten? Will it take another attack for us to again find resolve to stand strong against those who want to harm our country and want to kill the American Spirit.

President Obama does not understand our world and the times we live in.

So Long T.O. Owens

Well, maybe Jerry Jones is coming around. I acknowledge T.O. is a great player but this team needed to rid itself of selfish players. T.O. was all about "ME" and then team. This team needed to change this offseason and this is the biggest way to do it. This may not sure all the problems but it is a good start. Even Dale Hansen will have to give Jerry credit for making the right decision.

That is all I jave to say about that.

Wisdom from a Great Leader

As our culture faces a tough road ahead on family issues, I feel it is necessary to acknowledge a great leader. This week, James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family stepped down as the Chairman of the Board. He will continue to host his radio program but he realizes that new leaders should be ushered in to keep the organization strong. Focus on the Family and James Dobson have made a huge impact on my life and I wanted to make sure we acknowledge his service. Too many people in this position would hold on to the leadership position as long as possible often to the detriment of the organization.

As we face challenges in our culture Focus on the Family is a organization who will stand for life and family no matter what the storm is. Check them out today at www.focusonthefamily.com

Latin Night?????

Ok, so I turn on the Mavs game tonight against the Spurs. Looking forward to a great game that has meaning I am intrigued. But after a couple of minutes I notice the teams are wearing special jersey's. It is the Los Mavs vs. the Los Spurs! What is This????

I don't know who's idea this is but this cannot be looked at as a serious way to reah out to the hispanic fan base. Personally I think it is patronizing. I did not watch the beginning or much of the game so I did not hear the rationalization but in my opinion this was a bad stunt. I see a patich that Noche Latino which I guess means Latin Night. I guess adding Los before the team name did the trick.

Ridiculous!

Why am I blogging?

Many of my friends and family know I often have an opinion. In today's culture I see many of the people in my generation and the one behind me losing a grip on Standing on Principle. The breakdown of the family, greed, and selfishness are major issues in our world today. I want to have a place where you can come and read what I have to say and comment. I want to encourage others to stand on principle.

We must do this in our Faith, in our Government, in our Work, and in our Family. We must teach our kids that the way to achieve great things is to work hard, be honest, and always do the Right thing. Too many people today are looking to the government to give them a hand. I do not want to be a success due to my government, I want to be a success because I worked hard and never gave up.

Life will not be easy. As the world "crumbles" around us we can have great hope in knowing that we are living not for this world but for life everlasting with our Lord Jesus Christ. While we are here on this earth we need to be good stewards and Do the Right Thing.

I hope this blog is an encouragement to you!
